1. This blog has a lot of potential. Good content Chris! So, I’ve been playing piano for 64 years now since 5 yr old and have played gigs since I’m 14. As you can imagine, I’ve played / purchased / had a plethora of keyboards over the past 40 or so years. At heart, I’m still a piano player. My current rig consist of the following: Yamaha P255. I love this board. Closest thing to a grand piano sound yet and keyboard is the real deal 88 Keys. Piano action and synthetic ivory keys at only 40 lbs. I love this board and use it as the lower tier. The top tier is a Kurzweil Artis 7. Great sounds and dig its performance features. don’t like the springy keybed they used. In a pinch could use it on a light gig as only keyboard but it’s tiring to play. Finally, and latest addition, Nord Electro 6D. It placed my Nord Electro 4. I’m still a bit ‘out to lunch’ on this board as I’m having more issues than usual learning its features. Got this as my base board for smaller gigs when carrying the Yamaha is a bit too much. For all the hoopla about Nord,I find the organs are superb, pianos…will do but synthesis come nowhere near the Kurzweil. I opted for the 73 key version…more than enough to play band gigs and action is fine…can suffice for both piano and organ. Looking forward to more of your articles.

    1. Glenn, thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. I agree that the Kurzweil Artis 7 is fantastic. How are you enjoying your Nord Electro 6D? I’ve had the pleasure of playing one a few times.

  2. Hi Chris – I’d love to get your email so I could keep you posted on one of my clients in the keyboard/music learning space. Can you send me a quick email so we’re connected? Thanks!
